5 years ago, I was walking towards the ticketing counter of GSC 1Utama when I looked up the screen and saw this trailer. It was different from the other explosion filled, CGI induced trailers put up at the time. Even though I couldn't hear anything, the visuals on the screen was enough to get me hooked and look at my then girlfriend and said "we MUST watch this". A couple of weeks later, we bought tickets, sat down and watched this film. Ever since then, I have yet to find a local film as fun and exciting as Ciplak....
Fast forward two years. Urbanscapes 2008. I had found out Ciplak was playing. I had to watch it again. I frikkin' loved this film. It was there that I bumped into it's director and the man I would try to emulate ever since. Khairil M. Bahar, or Khai....
Over the years, I have had the pleasure of working this man on projects such as Ghost, Healthy Paranoia & Lucky Shot. By far, he is probably the most fun director I have worked with and it shows in his films. He has this wonderful rapport with his actors that I have not seen with anyone else. And also the fact that he is a wonderful friend and an all round awesome dude....
Well, now comes his moment of glory that has been long time coming. We Are Malaysian Made is having not only one but two nights dedicated to this prolific DIY filmaker....

Now here's a way to see all the rest fantastic work of this filmmaker. Come down and watch his collection of short films as well as hear an announcement of his next big project!! There will also be a Q&A with Khai as well as the fact that he will be selling DVD's of Ciplak as well!! I know i'll be getting one....
